Guidelines
From TSMWIKI
Concharto is an encyclopedic atlas of history and happenings. Our goal is to create a comprehensive geographic and temporal index to history by extending the well known wiki format to work on a map.
Wikipedia has shown how to harness the energy and intelligence of large groups of people in order to improve human knowledge. Because the aim of Concharto is similar, we don't have to re-invent all of the innovations of Wikipedia. Instead, we emulate them and follow their policies and guidelines where possible. These guidelines are not set in stone and should be treated with common sense.
Creating Events
- Neutral Point of View All events must be written from a neutral point of view (NPOV), representing fairly and, as much as possible, without bias all significant views (that have been published by reliable sources).
- Verifiability Material challenged or likely to be challenged, and all quotations, must be attributed to a reliable, published source.
- No original research Concharto is not a publisher of original thought, nor a forum for promoting one's own point of view; all material must be verifiable; Facts must be backed by citations to reliable sources that contain these facts
- Biographies of living persons Concharto content can affect real people's lives. This gives us an ethical and legal responsibility. Biographical material must be written with the greatest care and attention to verifiability, neutrality and avoiding original research, particularly if it is contentious.
- Notability A topic is presumed to be notable if it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Your dog's birth probably doesn't belong on the map.
Working With Others
- Civility Participate in a respectful and civil way. Do not ignore the positions and conclusions of others. Try to discourage others from being uncivil, and be careful to avoid offending people unintentionally.
- Consensus Consensus is Concharto's fundamental model for editorial decision-making
- No personal attacks Comment on content, not on the contributor.
- Dispute resolution
- No legal threats Do not make threats or claims of legal action on Concharto. If you have a dispute with the Community or its members, use dispute resolution. A polite report of a legal problem such as defamation or copyright infringement is not threatening and will be acted on quickly.
Deletion Policy
When you see a problem with the text of an event, it is always better to try to fix the problem by editing it or reverting a previous edit. But sometimes an event just doesn't belong on the map. Our Deletion Policy describes what to do in those situations.
